    Unfinished Don Post Masks

    Hi All,

Picked these two masks up recently from a seller in the States, they are unfinished production versions of 3PO and Stormy. The best part was the accompanying letter from the man himself, the seller had the foresight to take the masks in person to Don's studio in the mid 90's and have them authenticated.

    Enjoy!

    Will

Nice score! How much did these set you back? That stormy mask is screaming to get molded. I have always wanted a stormy mask straight out of the mold for molding purposes.

I have got to say that that 3PO looks amazing in the unfinished version. Man they're both great pieces, but the non production colored 3PO is awesome.
Got a vintage question? have you read The FAQ?

Now you know it's not polite to ask such things. But I already know and Will got a GREAT deal. I was quite envious.

Lusting after custom Stormtrooper armor is so 1991.

Thanks for the kind comments all, I was pretty happy to score them I can tell you.

Also thanks Chris for answering Peterfett's question, a lady never tells her age and a collector never mentions the price.

They weren't an Ebay win, I was completing a deal on some non-Star Wars stuff through another forum when the seller casually mentioned these "prototype Star Wars masks" he had somewhere, and was I interested? Serendipity, the only way to collect!

I would be interested in everyone's thoughts about the best way to conserve and display these. The 3PO would display really well if I could put some type of filling inside (newspaper?) to support it, any suggestions?

    Cheers,

Egads, Will! Definitely, definitely, definitely don't use newspaper! I recommend seeking out some type of inert, archival material to use inside of the C-3PO. Perhaps crumpling up a bunch of MylarD bags ( Bags Unlimited) would do the trick.
