    Re: NFL Thread 2006 Season!

I am a 49ers fan. I am not expecting anything great but some improvement and development of the young talent would be good. A finish somewhere in the .500 area would be nice.

Anyone watch the T.O. interview on Real Sports? Funny but sad at the same time. He is such a child. Anyways as a 49ers fan its going to be fun to see the slow implosion of both the Cowboys and T.O. It may not be this season but it will happen eventually. Plus, I love that he is playing in the NFC East still and has to go up against his former teammates twice a year. Man I hope those Philly backs lay him out.

I am a Philly fan (don't mind the Cubs logo). I hope Dawkins hits Owens across the middle and breaks his ankle. It would be fitting.

I figure Owens will have a huge year, as long as the o-line can protect Drew "the statue" Bledsoe. His implosion should start during the off season.

Anyone planning on attending any games this year? I am going to see the eagles at san Fran and later on the Packers at the Seahawks. (my wife is from Wisconsin)
I should not have to press 1 for English.

LOL Let the flaming begin. If it weren't for the Red Wings, Pistons and now the Tigers, football season would be even harder to swallow every year. Maybe Martz can kick some sense into the Lions butts this year. (Heres hoping for .500!!!)

Bengals all the way this year. Palmer will be back and our offense is ready to put up the points.
Army building is just as bad as scalping when supplies are low.

Raiders -- Saw them at the Superbowl in San Diego 3 years ago, hoping they make a comeback.

    Now THAT'S funny!

As a longtime fan of the Mighty Vikes, I can only smile graciously and say "They're rebuilding" a lot in the months to come.

No more Dante (and finally Miami gets a decent quaterback). Koren Robinson is battling alcoholism. Brad Johnson is the starting quarterback -- again. Is this 2006 or 1996?

Thank god Birk is back at least!

    Oh and...go Vikes!

Wow you pretty much said what T.O. said in his Real Sports interview verbatim. But its cool man I get it. When he was in SF the fans, the media, his teammates and the organization put up with his sh*t and gave him a pass because he is an immense talent. Then he started throwing his teammates and his coaches under the bus and now Niner fans couldn't be happier to be rid of that cancer.
Then he goes to Philly and the fans, team, media and organization were feeling what you are feeling now. Sure he had his problems but he was jus tmisunderstood, this is his new start, things will be different. Well the Honeymoon lasted for one season before things went sour. Coaches and teammates were again thrown under the bus.
Seems to be a recurring theme here from the only guy in history who has been misquoted in his own autobiography.
You can try and blame the media however the media only reports (overreports can be debated in this age of 24 hour ESPN coverage) what he does and what he says, they don't put the stupid sh*t in his mouth - he does that on his own. When he gets the chance to tell his side of the story he comes off looking like more of an immature jack***** each time. It's always someone else fault, its never T.O. The reason you will never get an "McNabb is a ******" story is because McNabb is know around the league, by the fans, his team, etc as nothing but a class act. I give him props because he played the bigger man as long as he could, he said almost nothing as T.O. continually took shots at him. But a man can only be tolerant for so long.
But like I said you are in the Honeymoon phase now. Slowly but surely Dallas will implode. It will start with a sideline fit when a play isn't called for him or his quarterback doesn't hit him when he's open. He'll pout. When he's done pouting he'll take a shot at his coaches or his teammates through the media. Instead of being responsible and handling it like an adult he'll hold a grudge and let it consume him to the point to where he'll alienate teammates and become a distraction in the lockerroom. And its not like I am making this up either its a documented pattern - no coincidences - just how a big baby like him deals with his issues. I am actually surprised that Parcells has stayed on to coach there, knowing what he's in for. He'll probably go before T.O. though.
