    Batman - The Dark Knight

Just read that Heath Ledger got offered the part of the Joker in the next Batman movie. Kind of surprised he was the one they picked. I liked Nick Cage or our own Mark Hamill for the role - afterall he did the voice of the Joker for the animated series.

Heath Ledger definately has the look for the part and is capable as an actor, just depends on the writing and directing. Hopefully those departments will do as well as they did with the first one.

Heath Ledger??? Woh, that one is very unexpected!! But I trust Nolan, I loved the Scarecrom and Rhas!! So we should be pleased with the Joker, hopefully!!

Hmmm...not too excited by this but if the sequel is anywhere near the quality of the first one then I'm interested.

I just saw Batman Begins last weekend, and was thoroughly unimpressed. The Scarecrow was particularly terrible. When I saw him sliding around in the previews looking freaky and saying "It's the Bat..... Maaaaaan," I was hoping that was going to be just an exceptionally bad moment in the film, and not indicitive of the rest of it. But sadly, it was indicitive.

The plot was dumb. The poison was dumb. The microwave weapon was dumb. The motivation of the shadow guys was dumb. There were a few decent moments, but I was groaning through a lot of it. The only good parts were the ninja training and the girl rejecting him at the end.

Never been a fan of Ledger. And he's a pretty poor choice for the Joker, IMHO. The Joker needs to be charismatic, and Ledger is just a wet blanket.

If Chris Nolan thinks that he should be The Joker, I sure as hell am not going to argue. He cast the hell out of Batman Begins.

Indeed. While it may have had a good cast, the plot in general wasn't...well...it just wasn't good enough. I find that Batman Begins has little to no replay value. When I first watched it on DVD I liked it but I rewatched it and it's just...bleh. I've never understood the hype around it all.

    Re: Batman Begins Sequel

I really enjoyed Batman Begins and thought it was a good film. I particularly liked the fact they inserted minor villains from the comics into the plot like Mr Zsaz and the Falcone mob.

However I didn't think it was the superb film everyone made it out to be. Perhaps it was because expectations were so low after the Schumacher controlled Batman And Robin affair, people were probably glad it just wasn't like that film.

I think Heath Ledger might be a decent Joker, I wouldn't have cast Jack Nicholson in the role but he did a decent job.

Mark Hamill from the animated series would've been amazing IMO. He had the character down perfectly, could be hillarious one minute and deadly the next, something that's very difficult to perfect.
