Would you pay more for an unopened Bust-Statue?

Was just thinking about this.I wouldn`t because I really don`t care if a bust or statue has been opened or not when i buy off fleabay i would pay the same price opened or not. i mean its not as if they have been played with or anything and if they have been opened you will know if theres any damage .Also i have got quite a few from shops that have been opened (checked)For damage.
Anyone else have any thoughts-attitude on this?
I`ve Still not got a fett bust , bummer!!!!

I display my statues and mini-busts, so I certainly would not pay more for a sealed example.

I pay whatever as long as there is NO damage. Sealed or opened, no matter. I also dont care about the edition number.

Opened or unopened makes no difference to me. It's a display piece, not a toy. Now, if it's missing it's box or coa, I wouldn't expect someone to charge me full price. Even though I would display it without either of those, I would want the item to be complete in case I ever have to resell it.

As long as they were complete and in the same condition I would (only of if they had the box as well)

    Same here.

Nice to see the boards working again. I was going through withdrawls.

I would rather it be opened so I can see what it looks like.
I remember my dad bought me the first 8 figures from K-Mart when they first came out. We tore them out of the boxes and and filled up the garbage can with cardboard. aaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!!

To me, opened or unopened shouldn't make too much of a difference in the cost. If I was to purchase a mini-bust from an individual in the secondary market, I would prefer that it had been open and inspected before I bought it.

If you buy a mini-bust from a retailer and it arrives broken, atleast you can return it for a replacement or a refund relatively hassle-free. Luckily, I haven't had to do this yet so it may be more difficult than I imagine. You might not be able to do that with an individual who's selling stuff on the internet so you get stuck with a broken mini-bust.

Are there any collectors that keeps their mini-busts in the box? I can't imagine not opening and displaying them.

I don't keep my stuff sealed so for busts and statues opened, or unopened really doesn't make a big difference for me. I'm usually gonna go with the most affordable price so whichever I can get I'll go that route...

Re: Would you pay more for an unopened Bust-Statue

Gotta agree with everyone else. Doesn't make any difference to me. I certainly wouldn't pay more for an "unopened" bust or statue - these aren't action figures we're talking about here and I don't get any particular enjoyment out of removing the tape around the styrofoam myself.

I've bought busts from smaller retailers before that have arrived obviously opened - while at first it kinda bothered me, I'd much rather someone check the item for damage before shipping it than not. As mentioned above, with large retailers you can usually easily return broken stuff for a refund or replacement, but that's not always the case with smaller outfits or especially eBay sellers.

Anyway, that's why I always purchase insurance when buying from an eBayer. It's a royal pain in the *** to collect on the insurance from the USPS, but it's better than being stuck with a broken bust.
