If I am correct on this, isn't part of the grading process not to open the item? What if Yoda is in pieces inside (they would have to break the factory seal to find out)?

I do think this is a bit much to do. These statues, etc are made to be displayed, not kept in a 'graded' box for eternity. What a waste of money. I wouldn't pay more than the .99 bid currently.

I have my Yoda proudly displayed in my cabinet and I am the proud owner of zero AFA items.

The tragedy in this. No one will ever see the statue inside that box, because it's sealed and will lose it's "worth" if the seal is broken.

Just about a month back, they were grading MIB .45 MR sabers!!!!! Now this!!! This one brings it to a new low!!! What a farce!!! AFA my ***!!!!! What else will it be next? A sealed MR EE in its orginal factory sealed carton??? Oh brother,....

Not too far off the mark. I bet they will start grading factory sealed cases of items next along with what you said about the factory sealed cartons from MR. This is just madness.

Now that takes the cake...I guess I'm buying busts and maquettes for the wrong reason...it's the box I'm buying. I see, who cares if the piece inside ever see the light of day but just as long as I get a mint box...that's what counts? All I have to say is...Lame!
