My case for a new Cloud Car

Dear Hasbro, what is the logic behind not releasing a new or updated cloud car using the Kenner molds? Is it unusable? Personally, I think the Cloud Car is the most elegant and stylish of the classic trilogy and now that we have the OTC Cloud Car pilot, it's a shame we don't have an updated vehicle.

I mean, for God's sake, we have several color versions of the X-wing, Y-wing, A-wing and even Slave 1.

I hope we can get the Cloud Car in late 2005 or early 2006. There must be a retailer who may want this.

I think their excuse is that the origial moulds were the only ones to have been damaged somehow so to create a new cloud car they would have to rescult and recast them which would up their costs and apparently make it unfeasable for them to do it.

Pretty flimsy excuse if you ask me as this really is the only major OT vehicle left to do - well of a size they could do anyway!

when were these molds damaged? They were able to redo the vader case and the skiff. Heck one of the slave 1 was a redo.

Id love to buy this. I loved it as a kid and had the big and the diecast and now only the diecast.

This has always been one of my favorite vehicles from the original line. I know I would buy atleast 5 because I did with the EU version they made. Plus they gave us the pilot last year so its about time for his vehicle.

I agree here. Cloud Car is a great piece missing from the collection right now. I would also like a more widely distributed B-Wing again. I could never find the POTJ version, and they are still going for too much on Ebay. And then of course a sweet Death Star Playset, but I know Hasbro won't touch that with a 10ft pole.

They better put out a Cloud Car! I bought 2 Cloud Car Pilots in anticipation of the car's release!

I have an old Kenner version, and it was alwaus one of my favourite vehicles, except for if you made it do a roll, the canopies don't stay closed and the figures would fall out.

I'm sure i read this somewhere in the rebelscum Q&A recently. The mould apparently got damaged somewhere between the POTF and POTF2 lines been released unlike the rest of the vintage moulds which were used for the modern line, like the skiff, y-wing, shuttle etc - i.e. pretty much every vehicles that's been released!

Well, thank the Maker, we ARE getting a Cloud Car soon according to the Q&A with Hasbro. I also have to vent and say that the answers one gets in the Q&A here can be a shot in the dark sometimes.

A Cloud Car toy would be great,

Can we have some electronics in it? I.e. flyby engine and blaster sounds with light-up feature.

    Would be wicked.
