OMG I don't know whether to be happy, apprehensive or just plain terrified.

So many good things, so little display space, so little money on my hands.

The 1/35 X-WIng will probably be sold like this space battleship Yamato:

Hi dinorider - your models all look fantastic. I'm finding it difficult though to gauge their size in relation to something like a basic Hasbro figure. Would it be possible to post a picture of your FM TIE models next to something like that or your hand?

I ask because I'm wondering whether to hold off on their 1/72 scale X-Wing and get the upcoming 1/48 version instead. I've heard that the FM models are small, but was wondering by how much.

Also, I haven't done much modeling in the last decade, what the instructions like? (not in Japanese only I hope?!)

an average hasbro action figure is about 1/4 inch shorter than the model TIE fighter's wing height, without the model display stand. It's easy to gauge from there.

And yes, all FM instructions are in Japanese. the pictures are clear enough, but the paint code numbers are for tamiya and gunze sangyo paints.

dinorider, your models look phenomenal. I never realized the difference in size between the TIE Fighter and Slave 1! Impressive. I'd love to do these models, but don't have nearly the talent to get them to that level. And I wouldnt want to settle for less.

Thanks dinorider. My FineMolds X-wing kit has arrived so I'm going to get cracking with that. Probably not the easiest model to get started with, but what the hell.

Why do the parts come on sprues? You'd think that after 20 years or so they would have found a safer way to keep the parts together.

Can't wait for the 1/48 version - is there a release date? Y-wing comes out next month I believe.

    "Too late!"

I've already finished constructing it, took about 5 hours in the end. I haven't painted anything except the cockpit, and I'll probably just stick with the default colour, put the decals on and then give it a dark wash or something. I'll see about getting some pictures taken.

To be honest, I just wanted to see if I can build it - and although there's still some blemishes on the plastic from the sprues and I used plastic glue rather than the fancy melting plastic cement stuff, I like how it turned out.

That was quick... I estimated that the build time for the FM X-Wing out of the box is around 25 hours for me.

My FM TIE fighter took about 13 hours to complete.

Jedi Delta-7 Interceptor around 30 hours.

ESB Slave 1, about 35 hours

Bumping an oldie, but is there any interest in these things?

I have a few I might be interested in selling. E-bay shows good prices, but don't want to go the e-bay route.

Just trying to gauge the demand, I guess...
