Doug Chiang and Iain McCaig...on board again.

Great news!!, but it makes you wonder, with Doug's sleek, aerodynamic stylings, do you think the ST designs will lean towards a more non-Empire culture visually? ...more assembly line, smooth luxury-style mechanics? ...less war machine aesthetics? ...so, with no plot points available, what does this make you think?

I worry a bit, just cuz those guys already had their time. I love their work, but a lot of it didn't really scream "Star Wars" to me. I know there will be PLENTY of other artists on it, I guess I just hope some of those artists will get top billing, and we're only hearing about Iain & Doug because they were big names in the PT.

...I still can't get over that Young Han Solo sketch & blurb from Iain...

I love the work of McCaig, but...I'm not thrilled to read this. The reason is...the OT had its own designers and its own feel, the PT had its own designers and its own feel, and I had hoped JJ would have the vision to realize the ST needs its own designers and its own feel.

That's pretty much how I feel. I loved their work on the PT but I liked the idea of each trilogy having its own identity in a way. Oh well. Still excited to see what they come up with.

These guys are artists and can design thins with an OT feel if that is what is asked of them. George demanded something else from them for the prequels, who knows what J.J. want them to do.

They should bring these guys on board...

No problems here with them returning to the franchise, it might help having a couple designers who've worked on the films before back again to help tie it all together.
