    Art of Christian Slade

    Hello everyone!

I have been visiting Rebelscum since it started in the 90s and was there for the amazing craziness of the 1970s. I guess you can say Star Wars has always been a part of my life. It fueled my imagination as a kid which inspired me to become a professional artist. Today, as a 38 year old, I am in love with Star Wars as much as I ever have. A dream of mine has always been to draw Star Wars officially so I am thrilled to be working on my first batch of SW sketch cards for Topps which are due out later this year. I am also a former Disney animator, and the artist/creator of the all ages graphic novel series KORGI published by Top Shelf. To see more of my work check out http://www.christianslade.com

I will post Star Wars original artwork here in this thread as it becomes available. I recently exhibited at a SW art show here in Central Florida which featured four of my original SW paintings. I will be posting these for sale to kick off this thread.

I am looking forward to hanging out with everyone here and discussing the best films in the world!...... and of course those amazing collectibles that came from them.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Collecting!
    -Christian Slade

    "Bantha Beast"

-I usually don't work larger than 18 x 24 but I wanted this piece to have some size to it and a presence on the wall. I was also thinking about some of the wildlife paintings of elephants and how majestic and large they seem by the way they are portrayed.
-As a child I have a great memory of sitting in the JC Penney cafeteria at the Willowbrook Mall in New Jersey. A little crowd of kids were buzzing around the toy area as workers began unloading new Star Wars action figures. These were the first ones to hit stores. My brother and I each got one each. He got Luke and I got the Tusken Raider. Still have it. Beat to hell, but it is treasured.

    1977 Arcade

    - Over the last few months, my twin children have enjoyed a vintage coin op carousel pig outside the BBQ restaurant we frequent. That is where I got the idea that this should of existed somewhere and who knows?
    Maybe it did.

    1980 Arcade

-I tried to select the most iconic machines from each original trilogy film for this series. This one was pretty obvious I thought.

    1983 Arcade

-This one was another obvious choice for the top ride vehicle from Jedi. The vintage arcade game was my favorite of the secondary time capsule props.

That is it for now. Feel free to PM me with questions or offers. In the coming months I plan on posting some smaller works and whatever else I come up with that is Star Wars. Thanks!
