Thank you Hasbro for ------- over with the last wave of vintage toys!

I must give sincere thanks to Hasbro for the following:

( whatever word ) over with the last wave of vintage cards and making them online exclusives.

Giving a chance to ebayer to scam collectors over with rip off prices.

Not giving a chance to the small time collector with limited budget to be able to buy nothing but full wave case to have the figures and to try not to ruin themselves with postage fees and such with auction scams.

Making some toys webstore exclusive, again paying premium for figure and or figures that are proably not even worth it.

Probably making a very limited amount of copies for the last wave, again creating a scalpers market on auction sites and brick and mortars stores.

    the silver lining:

At least now i have free money for the real vintage toys since you dont want my money anymore. I ll buy the toys that were made by a company that did care when they were making the toys.

there i can finally sleep and be over this marketing ploy, sadly enough i ll fall back into your ----- ways of doing business again later if you do decide to redo the vintage line again but not for the fact that i am a fan of your company because you have really dropped the ball but for the fact that i am a star wars fan above all. I might buy in into your BAD line but you will have to ------- impress me if you want to keep me buying your star wars toys until such day as you decided to smarten up and bring the vintage line back and do a decent job about everything at that time...

    RIP vintage line....

Let's face it, even if this wave did hit stores 95% of us would have had to order it online anyway.

again, apparently repeating myself for the 1001 th time now. Why would you order online and pay postage fees and or customs on your purchase when ( if business had been done right ) you could have gotten the stuff in the store and maybe took advantage of a sale or discounted price a little bit later.

are we in the times that everything has to be done online now? russian brides, emails? whats next? order your big macs from ebay?

oh am i am not done, not by a long shot. As i said i do not like hasbro in its current state, but that is my opinion, wether i like it or not is entirely up to me, whether you like it or not that i dont like hasbro is up to you. But first and foremost i am a star wars fan so you got to like that.

i may sound like a broken star wars read along record but i am sure i am not the only duded on the planet frustrated by the actions of a company that can't make head or tail of what to do with their merchandising and marketing. And just because of that hasbro might lose their license when time comes if lucasfilm deems that they are messing too much with their fans, after all, Lucasfilm signed with kenner way back then and probably signed as a courtesy with hasbro to make a buck on it but not much more....

Have you seen the price of gas?

It's 3.77 a gallon on a good day here. Then factor in tax too. And even then you never find what you want.

The cost of shipping is significantly less. I can ship two MOC TVC figures for 2 bucks! Retail is a dream anymore, and even if you can find what you want you'll be spending more in the lone run.

And if your paying customs fees you would be lucky if those figures even showed up at all!

Even when there are sales they never have what you want either. If you can go out and find the figures you want in one gallon of gas then I guess it's cheaper. But tell me, who does have that happen?

Your ideas of how retail should be are outdated and unrealistic.

I go out and drive to stores because I just like the idea of the hunt every now and then. Do I expect to find something, no but you never know what you might find. That said, I don't do trips that are just about hunting for figures anymore. There is always a reason for something that I am picking up and it's a couple stops just to see if some stores have figures on the pegs. The time of going out just to get Star Wars figures are done and gone.

As for shopping online. There have been some figures I was able to grab off ebay that I never would have been to get at that price in a store. Things are changing as technology changes. Especially as more and more people would rather shop from their own home and have the items delivered to their home rather than go out and TRY and find it. With online, you know if the item is there or not and it takes away the hunt. The only downfall is that with online you don't know what the thing will look like exactly in hand like you could at a store. So you can pick up two or three and look them over and grab the one you like the best.

You're right about that, I've only found 5 figures this year at an actual retail store!
