Avatar Figures boil & pop?

Hey, how difficult is it to get the legs off of an Avatar figure? I tried boil and pop and the torso just wouldn't disconnect. (and eventually when it broke, it seemed the crotch assembly was locked into the torso.

Will I just have to crack the torso?

The lower half of the body or just the legs? I think you will need to crack the upper torso to get the lower half. I've never tried to remove just legs from one of these.

I wanted to combine the brown pants from Spellman with the shirt from Jake Sully, but yeah, it appears the torso must be cracked to do that operation. :/
