Guys quit pointing out this auction to everyone so I can buy it for $1500 listed, have buyers remorse and then only get 1/2 what I paid out of it![]()
Yeah that kind of takes the fun out of it when people are just purchasing props because they know they'll be valuable in the future. Personally, I love absolutely every 1:1 item MR and eFX has released and I hope to one day own them all. I'm the same way with Sideshow's Predator bios and life-size SW busts. Although I'm not a huge fan of Ventress or how their Yoda looks and that new Bone Grill Predator is quite laughable. Also....sorry for rambling but I just got my first mechanical keyboard and I love the way it feels to type :-D I think I may start posting more....

I knew about 2 people who are not Star Wars collectors and pre-ordered the Vader Legend. One, who is a Marvel only collector even declared why. There is someone else here who did a similar thing...
Anyway back to this saber, I'm curious if someone will bite for the BIN, or will place a bid, trying to arrive to the reserve (which I think would be close to $5000 or maybe even more). Personally I never liked "reserve" auctions.
It wouldn't surprise me if the reserve was ~5k, not sure why they would pull it put a higher BIN price and auction (doesn't BIN go away after first bid???)
I personally think 1.5-2k is probably the actual value given how difficult it will be for a few years to get one. But you never know with ebay, I suppose there are reasons for the insanely priced stuff on there (get lucky with someone that doesn't do their research????).
Reserve auctions don't bother me to0 much, when it comes right down to it if you bid what you are willing to pay, you can't loose either way.
As for licensing and value... I will admit, that some of that has come into play with decisions I have made in the past. Though I am now currently trying to narrow down the scope of my collection and be more efficient with my collecting dollars.... Selling licensed stuff and replacing with fan-made of similar/acceptable quality. Though some look down at scummers for being too focused on licensed props, at least the quality is a known quantity and finding them is much easier. Just bought a resin ANH solo blaster, its ok but nothing near the quality of MR, but it also cost 10% of the price. Reading up on RPF and finding exactly what you are looking for is more difficult, then just shopping for MR or efx...
Wasn't it at $1500 with no reserve earlier (sorry, JR we should probably be talking about this in the other thread and not your WTB thread)?
I agree with dandirk - I would think the custom makers will have a verson available in the near future. And with Panther's plaques no one would probably be able to tell much of a diff between licensed vs non-licensed.
Yeah I hope they do, I'm just about to buy something from Oz (probably a stormie saber, I LOVE those) and I would definitely pick up an Orgus in the future. Panther's plaques are fantastic and would absolutely make it hard to tell the difference. I'm not a big fan of the stand though...anyone else have any thoughts on the matter? I get the whole old-school look but still....just not my style. This is definitely something for another thread but....any tips on getting stuff from Oz? What other custom makers are there besides the big sites that do electronics and everything? Favorite sabers by him?
