What kind of glue did you use, Hot glue? You might be able to pull off some sections of your ground cover to lay down some raised ground. Then re-apply the ground cover over them. Like John Silence said, you don't have to be too drastic.

oh yeah you can use twisted up aluminum foil for rough shapes/tree branches then you add plaster over it. wouldn't suggest adding branches to what you got though. and reindeer moss or any moss at the craft store works well for vegetation/ground cover
