You know, the more I looked at these...the more I liked them. Granted I couldn't care less about the pods, but the little figures themselves are really creative. I like that they're artistic representations, but not as ugly (IMO) as the Galactic Heroes. There's something a lot more charming about them. So I got three blind packs. Being a huge original trilogy, Vader, and Boba fan...I pulled pretty much ideal characters. I got Lando, Vader (bag exclusive), both Boba's (bag exclusive and regular), Chewie (bag exclusive), and Kit Fisto. So I'm pretty happy!
I'm really hoping for more of these. I can't believe there's not even so much as a single Leia in series 1. I hope they do well enough to warrant at least a series 2. There's dozens of characters left even just excluding different outfits and poses. I'd especially love to see ANH Leia, ANH Han, Tatooine Luke, Greedo, Scout Trooper, Wicket, Gamorrean Guard, and the rest of the bounty hunters. And that's just the tip of the iceberg really.

Let's hope so. A number 100~130 was the announced and some future figures were displayed at NY toy fair including ANH Leia. 2012 International Toy Fair

With the Hasbro TVC drought, I'm thinking about these more and more. I really hope the next series moves away from the "fighter-pod" concept and just sticks with making little figures. Maybe they could start some dioramas or play sets of some kind rather than the game apsect of it all.

My son and I got some sets this week and we both really like them. They did a great job in capturing a cool style to these figures in such a small scale... The pods are useless and Hasbro should focus on making some cool looking ships or play sets that the figures can go into that doesn't include the pods...I wonder if Hasbro plans on making GIJOE and Transformers fighter pods?
I would guess that they will make GI Joe and Transformer pods. They always seem to copy SW ideas into other lines.
Then (to me) it seems like it kills the line.

And I like your no-pod ship idea. I really wish the AT-AT had side panels.
Technically though, Star Wars Fighter Pods copied the Marvel one's, which all shamelessly copied the squinkies craze. They're basically just name brand squinkies. Hasbro looks at what's popular on the market toy-wise, whether it's their copywritten idea or not, and makes it all of their name brands - particularly Star Wars.
