prop authenticity question -Where Science Meets Imagination

Hey guys, last week I went to Where Science Meets Imagination exhibit in Santa Ana. I had also attended it some years ago in Columbus.

I was curious how many of the featured 'props' were actually props, and not replicas. Or if anyone who has been there or is familiar with the exhibit, if you know what was the real originals or not. Thanks guys!

As far as I know they were all original. There were some fakes/ Don Post stuff with the Star Wars symphony deal that was touring. I also noticed that when the WSMI exhibit was in Minneapolis they had Vader incorrectly labeled as being from ANH when it was the ROTJ Vader.

In some exhibitions in the past, some displays have been a jumble of pieces from different movies and that has confused a few people.

I live in columbus. Everything at the WSMI was original. But I too noticed they had a Solo outfit that was labeled incorrectly and had ESB pants with ANH top. I didnt think the SW in concert was all original though. Some of it just didnt look right.

The main thing is that all the parts are original even though they might not be assembled correctly.

Cool, thanks everyone. I'm always a little skeptical when I see props as to if they are legit. I appreciate the feedback

I know that the Yoda puppet for instance, was remolded quite a few years back. Charlie Bailey did the mold, and I think Nelson Hall did some of the painting on it. The original foam material they used for a lot of the props didn't preserve well over the years. But as others have already said, I think it's all original even though some have been reconditioned.

I know that the original Jabba puppet disintegrated and that the only original thing about the Jabba puppet that is original on display is the eyes.
