wow. cool move nick! he finally made it up. To be honest Joe... dont do copies. as much as i would want a copy ( even without having a figure yet) the past has teached us that you cant really trust anyone. it was wrong to do vlix molds and it is wrong to do a hm sword mold. just the fact that someone could make a copy of a copy is too dangerous. and even if you could tell whats fake, every new replica will question the aufhenticity of the few real ones a little bit more... best, mike

I agree with Mike, If they were created without your knowledge and against your will then rightfully they shouldn't exist to begin with. Use one of these and it all ends..[IMG][/IMG]

actually the mold was done FOR joe but with the intention of making a limited run for friends. but the idea was misused. so joe would have to rethink his initial (and generous) idea of helping out fellow collectors.

You wouldnt want to see replicas of a 1K item on ebay for 9.99 BIN would you? It just takes away the magic.

At the end if the day its all a question of trust and friendship i suppose. joe will do the right thing. If he gave these to friends u would suggest to do that with one rule: if the owner sells off he MUST give it back to Joe, it must not change the owner..?

    Just my 2 cents

Yeah fair enough but hard to police, I believe anytime a mold is made of a vintage item there's a chance ( albeit small ) of these things being abused.

Yeah, he just emailed me an apology for everything. Just thought I send my update too. Very mature of him to finally send the molds to Joe. However, I'd like to publicly say that I am not looking for a fight, and will not keep posting on this, but I most certainly do not accept an apology for the deplorable things he has said about me over the years. To even hint that I'd lay a hand on his wife is above and beyond and that act will not be forgiven. I can be big about some things but not this time.

Oh, and Joe, FWIW I'd hold on to, or destroy, those molds but don't make any copies. They've causes enough problems already. Just my 2p.

The one set of Niks "almost" exact repros that are out there are in the very trusted hands of "Rebojazz" Steven, and were sent to him on "permanent loan" with the exact agreement that you mentioned. IF he ever sells his Uzay HM, the sword and shield come back to me. IF I ever were to use these molds it'd be for someone that has that level of trust from me,and with no offense to my many friends, there are only a handful of bootleg collectors that have earned that kind of trust from me. I don't think I'll be using the molds or destroying them at any point in the near future. They'll just get put aside in my collection, and IF ever used it'll be a VERY small numbered edition that'll be clearly marked as repro w/ no way to remove that marking w.o destroying the piece. I'd never do something to devalue or defame such a rare piece.

    Cheers

Good to see John. Glad you didn't just roll over here and get your tummy scratched.
I honestly can't believe you would even want them in your collection, Joe. I would never want anything in my collection that came from that POS. Each to their own I guess. But if it was me I would be smashing those things into a million pieces and then setting them on fire. Get that bad ju-ju out of your house man.

Always Looking...for a double jointed supermodel who owns a brewery and grows her own pot. Access to free concert tickets a plus, as is having an open minded twin sister.
Check out my collection! These are the sorts of things I am really after. SMDHE

Just been informed about 2 sets of Niks unmarked repros in the hands of 2 other collectors. One contacted me and offered to either send it over to me for destruction or abide by the confines that Steven agreed to. The other I've often believed had acquired a set but that has now been proven. I'm hoping that he steps up to the plate, but we'll see. Luckilly the differences in these make it near impossible for them to be mistaken for real by anyone that's seen or held the real thing. I just worry about those that have acquired sets or individual weapons in the past few years.

    Cheers

I'm FAR from "rolling over and getting my tummy scratched", as you put it, but I'm not so much of an a**hole that I'm not going to give him (or ALMOST anyone that's wronged me) a chance to make things right and get on with his life without this mold set hanging over his head. Right now I'm checking into a sword that is being said to have come from him to see what the story is there. As for destroying them, I'm fairly sure that's out of the equation. I'd rather keep them, as has been mentioned, I've obviously done pretty good over the past decade,at keeping the original figure molds and a good portion of the original weapon molds, without the temptation to use them.

    Cheers

I think you'd be better off destroying the mold, or at least not making any more copies.

Will anyone who considered you a good friend, that you don't include in your list for these copies take it badly?

Seems like your good intention could quickly go south, and could come back to bite you in the ***.

I just wonder if that's not opening up a whole new box of trouble and heartache.

I think you'd be best to just leave things where they are (besides trying to track down other people who already have these. That's good info for future reference)
