Got tickets for the midnight showing... taking my 15-year old. She and I are watching ALIEN right now (paused just after the Kane scene so we can have dinner - LOL).

i actually work as a projectionist and i've been watching little snippets here and there from the booth for the last few hours. it opened last night here for us but i won't get to see it until tomorrow night.

i've heard bad things about the script. with all the hype about it i must say i've been getting into the spirit of things but there's no way this could ever top the original Alien movie. or the James Cameron sequel, for that matter. i'd be disappointed if it did, to be honest. they're such classic movies. but from what i've seen the visuals look absolutely gorgeous.....i guess i'll worry about the screenplay tomorrow night lol

I'm going at midnight with my lady and two friends. I'm going to get very little sleep before work tomorrow but I couldn't possibly sleep a wink anyways knowing that Prometheus is out.

I'm probably going to love it no matter what. It's just GOT to be way better than Alien Resurrection, AVP and AVPR, right?

How come no one likes Alien 3? That's really one of my favorites. Not only does David Fincher direct it, but it's closer in feel to the first. A bunch of people with no weapons getting picked off by a space monster... Aliens is cool, too, but it's way different and makes the xenomorphs look kind of wimpy to me...

I'm with you, AgentClaret. Super excited! I'm in the middle of an Alien marathon right now. Finished watching Alien on DVD, and now I'm watching Aliens on SyFy. After that I'll probably pop in my Alien 3 DVD before heading out to the theater.

I'm not adverse to Alien 3, either. it's nowhere near Aliens (which is nowhere near the original IMO), but i find it's a guilty pleasure of 90s sci-fi goodness. i feel they made a few bad choices in the screenplay, but it's certainly not the worst movie ever.
