Defective - an online SW fan comic

    Hi everyone,

I recently put out a new SW fan comic that took me some months to do. It's set several years before A New Hope and it follows a defective clone during the rise of the Galactic Empire. Let me know what you think!

The comic is here: "Defective" - Story&Art by Jason Loo

I posted a "making-of" blog that can be found in the main site here:
LOO HARVEST - blog: This making-of Defective comic turned autobiographical

    Cheers!

I really like it to be honest. Art work wasn't bad either.

My only complaint is that the space battle sequence wasn't all that easy to follow. At first I thought he got shot down instead of the Captain. But that was a very minor error. Also at first I didn't think Kenobi mind tricked him.

I really like some expansions but altering a film scene isn't a big plus.

I think it was really good though, don't get me wrong. Hope to see some more come out later.

The space battle was definitely a challenge in orchestrating. Following Imperial fighters can be tough when their fighters are identical and I knew ahead of time that 1308 and Captain Richo could be mistaken for each other (that's why I added silver streak on Richo's helmet as a guide). But yes, 1308 did get shot down (twice) instead of the Captain.

The Cantina scene wasn't intentionally made to be an alteration. It was more like an added brief couple seconds that may have happened (only in this fan comic). Lots of activity took place in the Cantina scene in ANH and we're all shown the shot where Kenobi was talking to Boshek the moment Boshek referred Kenobi to Chewbacca. That brief cameo of 1308 could have happened right when Kenobi approached Boshek. In other words, Kenobi waved 1308 out of the picture with a simple Jedi mindtrick before 1308 ever made it in the film edit and now 1308 is doing his own thing, lost in the humongous background of the Star Wars galaxy. Kinda on the same lines as Tag and Bink, but not as funny.

But thanks for pointing these out! Though I enjoy reading compliments (who doesn't?), I appreciate constructive criticism (much like yours)a lot more! Expect another tale early in the new year. And this one won't feature familiar characters (except for Death Troopers).

Very cool. I really like the artwork. Must have been time consuming.

    Thank you, Tanksmasher!
It did take a lot of time to get this done; about 5-7 hours each day on top of my regular 9-5 work day, but it was totally worth it since I always wanted to draw a Star Wars comic even if it was on my own accord.
