A Sunny Day in the Void

This episode was totally weird and awesome. I liked it way better than the last one.

This droid arc is doing nothing for me. I almost turned off this episode. What a waste of time.

Same here, i almost fell asleep. And for the record, my kids (6 and 11) also find the droid episodes to be very boring.
I guess the 2 main talking characters do nothing for me, so full episodes about their developement is just a huge waste of our time, when we could be talking about the other 100 more interresting characters.
I can resume the episode in 1 sentence:
"A frog whines for 22 minutes."

At the round table, i hope Jason asks his usual question: Why did this story need to be told? What is in this story that is so important that we spend time away from the main cast?

The first few minutes of the show was exciting and then....Zzzzzzzz. If it focused more on R2 and his other Astromech buddies, it would be more enjoyable to watch. The constant whining between the frog and the"WACK" droid is unbearable.

I had this whole THX-1138 vibe happening while watching this episode - where the characters from that movie were wandering aimlessly in a similar Void.

I'm trying to see beyond the criticisms of this arc. There was a lot going on visually that I actually found really appealing and Kiner's musical score was another standout. I'm into this arc for better or worse because - for better or worse - this is still the Wars.

Very interesting episode. I enjoyed how they explored angst and nihilism without getting too gloomy…or French. I found it cool how the solutions to what Gascon was struggling with were basically Jedi philosophy: “Unlearn what you have learned” (the whole training/programming thing),“let go your conscious self and act on instinct” (abandoning the limitations of rational thinking), and “your focus determines your reality” (Gascon’s change in perspective—which is the essence of existentialism: that we determine our life). Some have said this episode is pointless. Yeah, I think that was the point. Despair arises from the absurdity of life’s meaninglessness.

Great show. Love the slow decay of the characters.

Hope to hear a podcast this week of this one…
