Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure for PS3, XBOX 360 and Wii

I wa wondering if any of you folks out there are getting this game for your kids....or maybe for yourself. Pretty neat concept.....got the game for my boys for Christmas. Wondering if anybody else out there did too.

At first I was turned off by the changes they made to the franchise for it, but the more I've seen, heard, and read about it the cooler it seems. It may end up on my own Christmas list! It looks very intriguing and I hope it's successful, as I'd love to see the concept branch out to other franchises too. The cross-compatibility between consoles is just as cool as the idea of the figures saving your accomplishments.

If your curious about these, I highly recommend listening to the newest episode Giant Bomb's podcast. Geoff Gertsman got kinda hooked on it and has pretty much bought all the characters to go with the game. Just search for giantbomb cast on iTunes or go to giantbomb.com to check it out. They take a little while to get into the Skylanders talk but the rest of the podcast is still entertaining.

I have the game now and have played it a bit and love it. It's really fun and a lot of the characters are really cool. The voice acting and writing is pretty amusing, too. I can easily see this becoming a favorite in my (relatively small) video game library...and I plan on buying a lot of the toys, too. You have to get a bunch of them to unlock everything in the game, which isn't something I've cared about achieving for a while with a game but might actually go for with this one. My #1 goal apart from completing the story is to max out my favorite character, Bash.

We got it for our boys for Christmas but I popped it open to test it out the other night....make sure it's one they will be able to play. They are going to love it. Glad I got it with some coupons at Kmart or I'd been mad seeing it for $50 this weekend. The sales were good these past few days. Te single figures are normally $8 but this weekend they were 2 for $10

My son played this pretty much all day. He barely played with any of the other things he got...and he got some cool stuff. And when he wasn't playing the game, he was reading the game guide.
We ended up getting him just about all the figures that were out, so he had a blast switching figures back and forth.

Yeah. Same at our house. Skylanders was definitively the winner this Christmas at our house with the Leappads being a close 2nd. I'll admit....it's a neat game for them and even neater that it's something I can do with them.

I got a 3DS and the 3DS Skylanders Starter Pack for Christmas and have been enjoying it a lot - almost as much as the console version. It is much more similar to the classic Spyro games than console Skylanders is.
