Three weeks ago, I took my 3 year old daughter to see E.T. at the Seattle Science Fiction Festival at the Seattle Cinerama. She has been totally obsessed with E.T. ever since.

Last weekend, we stumbled upon the first two figures from this line (as well as the role play light up hand toy) and I have to say... these are GREAT action figures. Totally compelling little toys. Way better than anything I had back in 1982.

Now she wants Elliot. I'm guessing that due to likeness rights that won't be happening though?

The Galactic Friend E.T. is just about the coolest figure I've picked up this month! The sculpting detail, and even the coloration of the eyes is top-notch!

I'll be reviewing him in 2 weeks on my blog, to coincide with the 30th anniv release of the film. I'm planning to go out today and shoot some photos at this one area near my apartment. I considered shooting E.T. in front of a generic white background, but given that he's a nature-lover, it feels better to take him on location (Harry Potter and Hagrid's dog Fang have agreed to come along to offer size comparison and atmosphere to my pics).

I was really surprised how much I liked this guy.

I guess you have to like E.T. to appreciate him, but I got the review up.

Excellent photos, ODBJBG! They really show the amazing detail and likeness of the figure for those who haven't seen it in person yet. Dr. Who and the other whimsical ones are funny (LOL at MC E.T.), but I especially like the one with E.T. peering into the trash can. It really captures his curiosity about everything around him in our world. Where's the can from? Also where's the chain from? Looks like it fits perfectly. If I'd never seen the movie I'd think it came with the figure.

CTR's pix are really nice too. I see their figure suffers from the same unfortunate paint transfer mine did. That white blanket really leaves paint marks on the figure. I imagine it'll be impossible to find one that isn't afflicted. I had to very carefully scrape it away. Mine had some red paint from the fingertip smudged on the palm too. I got it all off satisfactorily.

I highly recommend everyone stop at TRU and check these out! I think I want drunk E.T. Is series 2 out yet? NECA's site says June, but I haven't seen them...?

My figure has the white paint spots as well. However, the figure is a masterpiece.

I'm thinking Goo Gone for the white spots?
