    How are we doing?

So it's been exactly 2 weeks since launch - how's everyone doing? Have we done ok in squashing most of the problems? Other than issues with policy changes rather than technical issues (number of PMs allowed, post editing permissions) is there anything we can do to improve things for you guys? If you didn't initially like the new forum, do you now? Let us know

    Grahame

That's actually the one thing I'm hoping people notice the most - the speed and stability of the new server.

    everything seems to be good.
only complaint is the 20 threads per page limit. some sections have 5 stickies, with only 15 threads per page it's easy to miss stuff or just lose track of certain threads.
and no, i don't always remember to favorite/bookmark a thread.

the fact that i can log on anytime without sql errors popping up is still sinking in.
can't wait to see what happens with a show(TF,SDCC,NYCC) presentation and everyone jumps on without it crashing

Spent close to ten years on the old Scum forum.....love this new look, hope to have an equally long stay with it.

    Well done crew.

It took some adjustment, but I've gotten used to most everything that I had trouble with at first (eg the profile and settings areas seem a lot more complicated than the old forum). All the glitches (eg cookies issues) are gone for me. The forum runs pretty smooth; I like it!

Other than policy and technical stuff...? Not quite sure what you're looking for input on. New features?

Here are some nitpicks I can mention:

I'd also like an option for more threads per page if possible.

Also every time I go to "Who's Online" I have to manually set the page to Last Activity from User Name. Personally I'd prefer a default to Last Activity like the old board.

Oh yeah, someone mentioned that we need the thread title to appear above each post in a thread. I agree.

Glad we don't lock threads anymore and start v2, v3 etc. That's a plus! (Has anyone considered merging all the old separated threads??)

That's all I can think of for now. Thanks for all your hard work!

PS In forums that don't allow all members to post new threads, such as TVC, could we get a sticky thread with instructions on how to request a new thread? I've PM'ed mods with thread requests and been ignored. I really have no idea if these thread requests are unwanted...?

I have tried to find a solution to this one, but it's not a user setting it's a global setting unlike the old system. If I make it more than 20 per page, it affects every user in every forum.

Yeah, that'll be interesting - Fan Days is coming soon....
