    My Mexican/SA Collection 2012 (Updated)

I revamped some photos of my collection and added some new ones. I"ve been collecting this line for about 7 years now and still have a bunch more to find.

Just to give you a brief history: The Mexican/SA (semi-articulated) line actually began around the 1980s, many of these early variants are really HARD to find, and continued till well within the 90's through the POTF2 era as a few of these figures are POTF2 sculpts. I've been told that production even possibly continued throught the late 90's. A vast majority of the earliest bootlegs produced are next to impossible to find. Some characters like Mini-Jabba, Luke X-Wing, Ree Yees, Han Solo and Prune Face very rarely show up in the market and only a small handful are known to exist in private and anonymous collections. In the early years some of these figures were even sculpted differently: Snowtrooper had a true vintage head-sculpt as opposed to the common one with protruding eyes and "mouth", early Princess Leia had a movable head and C-3PO had a peg hole in one of his feet. There are two other characters that are believed to have movable heads in the early years.

There are over 40 different characters available in this line and well over 275 variants (for those who are keeping track, lol). The only other line of bootlegs that even come close to this is the Polish unarticulated, however, if you add the different packaging, it's a whole other ballgame. Much information on the company and packaging I'll save for another time to sort things out but here is what I have to show:

Awesome Steven! So many great and ugly colorful figures! I gotta say the A Wing Pilots and the line of C3PO's are my favorites! I love the all yellow 3PO sculpt. It reminds me of the Droids 3PO.

    Great collection, awesome work!

Haha! Joking aside I love the collection, bootlegs aren't something I go out of my way to collect but thanks to a friend I do have a Mexican SA ERG which belonged to a very cool guy and I think he is quite an awesome figurel!

Congrats on such an amazing army of the critters!

Outstanding stuff, Steven! I love the way that Kenner/McQuarrie images were used for cardboard backing for some of those bagged sets. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome stuff Steven!!! I don't even know where to begin, I love it all. I think the different 3POs stand out for me.
