Yes, it has been very hard to put this collection together (as you know, Joe). Building good rapor and being very patient is very key... and, of cours, sometimes a little luck.

like 5 or 6 years ago I saw what I could say is the holy grail of MEXICAN BOOTLEGS , it´s called the "YODA NEGRITO" , it was MOC and 100% orginal. The owner ask me if I want it, but at that very particular time I wasn´t interested in Mexican figures,so I let it pass away,of course he asked for a ton of money but I didn´t understand why, until he explained to me the complete story.
Since then, I´ve been looking for that one and seems it´s impossible to find! .... probably lost in time!

Are you talking about the Yoda with blue robe on the cardback with the tribal guy on it? Wasn't that a complete fake?

Yes it was a complete fake - Stay well away from any El Negrito Yoda figures.. (but that's another discussion for another time- let's let this topic remain a limelight)

I don´t want to start a debate in this limelight so first of all let´s make sure we are talking about the same figure...let me describe the card really fast .. First of all it was MOC, the card was like the size of the early Mecano action figures, the back was Yellow featuring Yoda, he appears hand painted ( the way they painted Yoda on the card looks almost exactly like Luke , leia, Vader, etc.etc. that appears on Rebojazz´s bagged Boba Fetts ), very typical for Mexican Toys during the late 70´s and early 80´s in Mexico)... and of course Yoda and everything was made of black materials... Just double checking if we are talking about the same thing...
MMmmmmm ... Again Joe, if you haven´t seen it , it doesn´t mean it didn´t exist... like the Ledy 8D8 with insert.. you claim it didn´t exist!, IMO.. you should ask before stating something... most probably we are talking about 2 different YODAS... but you are right about something .. let´s better keep enjoying REBOJAZZ Mexican Bootlegs..

Great collection, Steven. I'll be honest, when I see individual (non-Vader) bootlegs, they don't really strike me like they do to so many people. But seeing your collection with the tons of different color/packaging/accessory variations is uber-freaking-cool!

I gotta get the hell out of this thread before I start wanting to start a bootleg collection!
