not a fan of the endless supply of batman figures but he is better then most. just what is up with the purple gloves? dont know if bob kane or mattel did it but just they dont look right.

That's how he looked in his first appearance. Hence the naming of the figure.

Yeah, took Batman a while to hit his stride, design and story wise. But I still want the figure because of the historical significance of the costume.

Picked up the AC Harley Quinn and Nightwing figures yesterday. They look great. You almost can't tell the difference between DC Direct and Mattel's depictions.

I guess personal taste plays a big part in these discussions, but seriously.. the first appearance outfit rocks!!

Respect to the original design - PLUS, the fact that it has has barely changed in 70+ years! (excluding the films)

I've been seeing the First Appearance Batman and Catwoman around a lot. I gave up on trying to find Nightwing, so I got one off ebay (and loose - so I don't have to feel guilty about not knowing what to do with an empty package I don't have room for). Three days later I see him at Target. He really looks great. The FA Bats and Catwoman also look spot on. Today I saw the black and white AC Batman and Catwoman set - it looks much better in person than I was expecting it to.

That's exactly what I thought, that it's like a more mature BTAS. Joker is very similar to the BTAS version of the character. He's just no longer restrained by TV censors and can be as sadistic and twisted as he needs to be. The only character I felt was poorly written was Catwoman. The rest were spot on. Penguin was a very different take but I liked it. Not so much the design but the personality.

I didn't mind the way catwoman was written. After playing as Batman for however long, then to all of a sudden have to switch to playing as Catwoman was a bit of a tough transition though. Most of the early promo stuff made it seem like rescuing her from Two face was the point of the game and wouldn't happen until much much later on. Penguin reminded me of how he was portrayed in the 'The Batman' cartoon (which is definitely worth checking out if you never have. Different, but done well).

Her lines were just too corny to me. Too many innuendos and double entendres. A few here and there woulda been OK and more in character but they beat you over the head with it. I agree about switching over to her. Once was pretty cool but after a while I got tired of her and just wanted to play as Batman.

I've seen The Batman. Think I only missed a few episodes from the final season. Very, very different. I wasn't much of a fan of it until the last season. The writing got much better and the addition of Robin was fun, as were the guest stars.


Think I've decided to pick up that Play Arts Arkham Asylum Batman. Been checking out pics and reviews and he looks so awesome. Tomorrow I'm gonna hit up the comic shops in my area and see if they have it.


Big month for Batman stuff. On the 25th we get AC wave 2 from DCD, and then it's rumored that the TDKR Movie Masters will be out on the 28th.

Yeah, I can't wait for AC wave 2 at the end of the month. I'm more looking forward toward wave 3, though.
