I think you came up with a good solution. It looks really good.
I have problems with keeping "man-made structures" smooth and appropriately geometric. So, I always try to find existing pieces that take only a little bit of modification. If you were going all the way around, I would have suggested going to a dollar store and finding a large salad bowl with the same slope to it. Then use a Dremel to cut off the first two-inch layer of the bowl. Then you have something smooth and uniform. And you also have a more shallow bowl that can be used for another project.
Have fun,
Stephen

Spooky, this is looking aweseome!!! such a great subject.
Give yourself a little more credit than that. I was very impressed how you went about creating it & adding support to the platform. Nice piece of work.Originally Posted by Spookymufu

thanks guys, I'm hoping that when I seal the putty and paint it, it will look good!
hansoldbuddy, thanks for the vote of confidence but I know my mathematical limitations![]()

hopefully this works out and looks decent when I get all done. I'll need to find a sealer and I'll need to ask Diego_Bah what paint he uses on foamcore, I dont want this thing to curl up after all this effort![]()
