    Star Wars EPI 3D - Feb. 10th, 2012

    Breaking news:

Lucasfilm has decided to reprocess the series into that format and release the films in theaters again, starting in 2012 with the 1999 prequel The Phantom Menace. It's only one-sixth of the news that Star Wars fans have been waiting to hear, but it's the first step toward converting the other prequels and original trilogy.

I'm all for the innovation, but I'm not excited for these releases. The 3D effect does little to nothing for me as a viewer.

Dude, I'm not a big fan of 3d either, and I personally think Lucas needs to just leave the movies alone, but man, It's Star Wars on the big screen again! I havent been able to see the OT in a theater since 1997!(not counting CV)
May the Force be with you. Always. (But only if you have enough midichlorians.)

Oh baby! I can't wait! Tonight is a great night! The Reds win the NL central and this! Can't wait to see all of the films at the midnight screenings, never could do that before, too young. I'll see them so many times the 3D will make me sick! Can't wait can't wait can't wait!

You're not catching my point. I can't see the effect in theaters. Believe me, I've tried. The only place I've been able to really see it was at the IMAX Hubble show, and that was for a few seconds.

I would love to see the saga in theaters again, but I'm not going to pay for a seat to watch through useless glasses. Watching without the glasses is out of the question.

I've never seen any of the Star Wars films on the big screen so I am SOOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!! I wish it wasn't going to take so long but I think that the wait will be worth it. Lucas doesn't do things half-way so it will be done right
You know that eighteen year old kid who still loves to play with plastic lightsabers? Yeah, that's me. But, it's secretly you too. We all need to embrace our inner plastic lightsaber wielders.

I agree with Tk_12, Star Wars on the big screen is ALWAYS a great idea whatever the excuse. Fingers crossed they have the 3D, 2D options like other movie releases. The only 3D movie that really impressed me was Avatar, not for the creatures or vehicle effects but for the amazing effects of the background/foreground computer screens (for want of a better word). Those subtle but realistic effects are what sucked me in. Although the scenes such as the Falcon entering the Death Star landing bay and the floating trooper will be awesome I'm sure. Would I ask for Star Wars 3D? No. Will I pay to see it? ABSOLUTLY!
