    Hoth Leia-The Vintage Collection

I actually bought this figure some time ago but I was too lazy to do a review until now. With CV just around the corner though and in the heat of comic con and vintage hitting the shelves, why not? I'm going to skip the packaging section of this review. You all love it. I love it. If you want to read more of my thoughts on it and how the cardback should be changed, check out my review of Dengar. Onto reviewing the Princess.

    Sculpt: 5/5
This is a perfect representation of Leia in her hoth attire. The outfit is well detailed and the figure is well proportioned. She's actually shaped like a woman with no awkwardness or anything taken away from funky articulation. This is a good clean sculpt and I love the texture on her outfit. They went so far as to sculpt on little details onto her rank insignia and on her wrist communicator.

    Paint: 3/5
This is my main point of contention with what would be an otherwise perfect figure. The early promo pics that surfaced told me this figure would be VOTC Han quality, an instant favorite and one of my favorite figures ever. I'm afraid to say that thanks to the paint she suffers from a bit of china doll syndrome. I really do like the weathering on the vest, the darker and dirtier tones on the outfit she's wearing under it too, but the face is lacking something. It's too pallid and her pupils are too large. This gives her a toylike appearance not a human appearance. This also makes her face look a bit generic, which is the furthest thing from how Carrie Fisher actually looks.

    Articulation: 5/5
I'm giving her a perfect score here because she has all she needs and fans have gotten spoiled with balljoints all over the place. I'm also glad the articulation doesn't interfere with the look of the figure overall. Sure she lacks ankles, but it doesn't bother me a bit. She stands fine.

    Accessories: 4/5
She comes with a gun. The handle is too wide for her hands so I left it out of the pic. She doesn't really need it and I can't think of much else she could come with. I'm not going to dock her too much for a weakness in this category cause it's non essential.

    Value: 3.5/5
At the $10 I paid at TRU this is ALMOST worth it. It's a great solid figure that looks nice on my ESB shelf. Still, that's a bit steep and I'm sure if I had picked her up at walmart or something I'd have zero second thoughts about the price.

    Quality: 5/5
Pick the best paint you can

    Overall: 4/5
This is a nice figure and she fits in with my other hoth gear figures nicely, and certainly topples that stupid Han from the VTAC wave. If only the paint on the face were nicer I'd be more pleased right now. This release isn't as exciting as it COULD have been if she had looked more lifelike. Even so, you shouldn't pass this one.

Nice review. I have similar feelings about this fig. She is not perfect --- wide stance, lack of ankles... --- but she is still pretty dang cool. Easily my favorite of the wave. Here is a childhood fave FINALLY! done right. She is most welcome and exactly what the Vintage Wave is all about...
Go check out my "Vintaged Up" custom SANDCRAWLER interiors in the Customizing Thread! My fist attempt at any such venture... And I think it looks pretty dang cool.

I love this figure but my main problem is the dirty wash they gave it. Her outfit was pretty clean throughout the movie as evident by this photo:

Maybe the figure is a post-Falcon repair job.
