Hasbro - Thor Movie Line

Thor looks fine but he needs a helmet.

I saw some still photos of the movie helmets, so I imagine there will also be a helmeted version of the figure in the line as well. I'm guessing that in the movie, Thor will be bare-headed through most of the film, and he'll probably put it on toward the end of the movie for the final battle scene, to show Thor as he's supposed to be, kind of like the "Anakin gets the Vader suit" scene, or "Dr. Rex becomes Cobra Commander" scene, this is my guess as all we've seen of Thor movie pics so far have been sans helmet, I think it's going to be the big dramatic heroic moment when the big heroic moment of the movie score cues up.

Honestly, out of the two (sorry 3, counting Spidey 3 3/4"), I've not been a big movie series collector, only select ones for customizing. I want comic- accurate ones to go with my MU collection. The way Deadpool and Sabertooth were depicted in the Wolverine movie really turned me off of the movie series figures. The exception I made was the movie War Machine since I think that armor looks better than the comic series version.
I hope the Thor comic series line has a good variety of characters and not umpteen versions of Thor in costume almost exclusively, this is what's keeping my IM2 collection at a minimum.

who do you think might be in the Comic series? think we'll see an Ultimates Thor? I was trying to figure out who all might be in his line up, and realized that I avoided Thor comics for so long, that I have no idea who would be his supporting cast. I need villains for my MU, but on the other hand, I really don't want Asgardians.

Well by now it's obvious we'll be getting movie versions of Odin, Thor, and Loki, and makes sense to get Comic Beta Ray Bill. I do wonder if we'll ever get an Agent Phil Coulson figure since he seems to be in all the movies, also Nick Fury seems likely again in this line.

For me there's not that much from Thor that I'm familiar with or interested in character wise.
Though it might be a chance to get Count Nefaria, Hercules, High Evolutionary, and Kang.

True, but unless we want to see Absorbing Man, Enchantress, and Wrecker again there's not much else Visually appealing for a Movie AF line IMO.
Plus based on Hasbro's stance Jane Foster is unlikely, so it leaves only a hand full of choices and I don't know what ratio of Movie vs. Comic figures they plan to do.
Based on who's listed in the movie it would seem more likely to get a bigger selection of Comic characters.

I'd prefer a larger selection of comic series characters myself, in the long run there's more of a shelf life for them than movie series by far- movie series figures are good for the first year or so and then the interest wanes.
Comic series figures always have the potential to go far, provided the toy manufacturer is willing to support with fresh waves of product.
Star Wars was the one that ended up bucking that trend, mind you, back in the Kenner era, even those were just as good as the movies were popular. After Jedi, interest fizzled and SW was done by 1984 or 85.

I've got a feeling it's gonna be mostly asgardians. Which makes total sense, and when are you going to need that many Asgardians released in the regular MU line?

Not exactly blown away, the figures look good in terms of sculpt, but you just don't think of Thor when you look at them.
I also wonder why the promotional pic doesn't match the outfit on the figure.
