I know I bash X quite a bit, but would be curious to play an HD remix of it. I mean its not a bad game, but not at the top of my list of FF games. Who knows, I may dust off the game and play it this weekend.

I think it will be released for the PS3, which would be nice. Im not really into handheld gaming.

Also just noticed all Square games on sale at the PS Store. I think like 50% off. I purchased them a while back at regular price and dont regret it. But at $4.99 a pop, if you have never played the older games, this would be a great opportunity to pick some of them up.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Set For Summer 2012 U.S. Release

Square Enix's completely bizarre (and awesome) Final Fantasy-inspired music game, Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, is getting a U.S. release sometime during summer 2012, a morning press release confirms. The Nintendo 3DS game arrived in Japan on February 16, but this is the first official confirmation of release plans for other parts of the world.

If there's anything special or different about the U.S. version of Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, it's not mentioned in the announcement. Fans can expect to tap out the beats to more than 70 pieces of music pulled from the fantasy RPG series' 25 years worth of games. There's a new English-language website and Facebook page online now, so be sure to take a peek if you want some more info. With PAX East, E3 and the spring/summer season of trade shows fast approaching, expect to hear more soon enough.

Final Fantasy Characters To Showcase Prada Fashion Collection

Final Fantasy characters will be showcasing Prada's 2012 men's collection. For the record, I never, ever, thought I'd write that last sentence in a million years. Nevertheless, it's true. Square Enix has come together with Prada to show off Prada's new Spring/Summer men's collection as part of the 25th Anniversary celebration of the Final Fantasy series. Hopefully no Moogles were harmed in the making of these clothes!

“The Final Fantasy series is known for its creativity and innovation; so working with Prada, a renowned fashion house with such beautiful clothingwas a very exciting opportunity. The images we have been able to create together are vibrant and unique,” said Yoshinori Kitase, producer of Final Fantasy 13-2.

Only characters from Final Fantasy 13-2 will be featured, including Noel, Sazh, Hope, and female lead, Lightning. I'm not sure why they chose to go with Lightning instead of you know, a major guy in the game like Snow, but this announcement is weird enough that I think it's better to just not ask any questions.

Assassin's Creed And Gilgamesh DLC Coming To Final Fantasy 13-2

Square Enix Japan has announced the next Final Fantasy 13-2 DLC pack will feature an Assassin's Creed outfit for Noel and a Gilgamesh Coliseum battle. Noel's becoming quite the fashion icon. First there was the Mass Effect 3 DLC, then he became a Prada model, now he's an Assassin? I can't even wait to see what's next for the most well-dressed character in Final Fantasy 13-2. Serah will also be getting a new costume, from "Exposure and Defense" and Koyo Koyo, a character from previous Final Fantasy games, will also be a Coliseum boss.

The DLC will be out for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on April 10 in Japan, but for now Square hasn't let us know when Western audiences will be treated to this DLC. When we have more updates we'll let you know.

Square Enix Launches Square Enix Audio -- A Free Music Streaming Service

Final Fantasy XIII



Square Enix has launched Square Enix Audio. Square Enix Audio is a free music streaming service split in to channels for each game. Currently, titles include games like Xenogears, Drakengard, Final Fantasy 13, Sengoku IXA, SaGA and El Shaddai. The site's mostly in Japanese for now, but it's easy enough to navigate. All you've got to do is select a game and you'll be able to listen to music from its soundtrack, buy the songs, and tell your friends what you're listening to via their social media integration. I listened to some Xenogears while I wrote this post. Memories!

Once they add new games to the service (like Chrono Cross, because it has the best soundtrack ever), and translate it to English, I can totally see myself listening to Square Enix Audio all the time while at work. What about you?

Snow and Valfodr DLC Coming To Final Fantasy 13-2 In May

Final Fantasy XIII

Final Fantasy 13-2 is getting Snow and Valfodr DLC around May 15, 2012. Snow, who was one of the main characters in FF13, will get a whole episode to himself in Final Fantasy 13-2 called "Don't fight for me," which will delve deeper into his and Serah's relationship. The episode will also clear up some mysteries behind the Coliseum, according to FF13-2 Director, Motomu Toriyama.

Valfodr will appear in Snow's episode, in the Coliseum. He'll use weapons, magic, and summons against your party, and each time you defeat him he'll come back at a higher level and with additional abilities. Toriyama's said that Valfodr's supposed to be the strongest Coliseum boss, and when he's at max level he's the most powerful monster in the game.

Sounds like a good chunk of DLC to me. Not only do you get to clear up some story spots, but you'll also get to test your might against a tough boss. Are you going to pick up the Snow and Valfodr FF13-2 DLC?

I'm finally into XIII-2, and am loving it. It feels like a much tighter game than XIII. Maybe it is because I understand the system and characters better after finishing XIII, but I am enjoying this one quite a bit more from the jump. The story is also less confusing than XIII's was when it first started. I will definitely pick up the Snow DLC once I finish the game.
