    Japanese knockoff card sheet?

Does anyone know who made this card sheet and what it was used for? The back of the sheet is blank and each individual card on the sheet is perforated. The art looks similar to that of the unlicensed menko card set but I don't know if they are connected.

Contact John_sH, he knows a lot about Japanese bootlegs and showed these during his Celebration Japan Bootleg panel. If I recall correctly they were some type of game of chance. I know I am looking for one of the sheets with R2 if you know where multiples are.

They're small game tokens. If you tore one off, you'd find it would separate into two smaller sheets. Inside is a number that corresponds to a prize. The scale of it was apparently quite small; you'd pay ten yen (about 10c) for a token and usually end up with a prize worth about ten yen, like candy or similar. Really it was just a bit of fun if you were a kid.

These were given away at the CJ bootleg collecting panel to people who asked questions. About 4-6 were given out if I remember correctly. I also know that at least one has turned up on eBay as well.

Thanks for the info. I bought this one on eBay so it is probably the same one that you saw up for sale.

Those are quite cool, I love the cartoonish drawing style. So many cool items, that has come out of Japan.
