I am confused about the Miniatures !

As you can see from my WANT list, I am pretty new into collecting the miniatures.
Since both, the checklist here in the boards AND the photo archives are way outdated, I hoped someone could help me with some questions over here.

    * Clone Strike: 2 of the 60 figures can ONLY be found in the starter kit, right ?

    * ROTS: same question as above

    * Alliance and Empire: Are these all NEW figures or just re-released ones but with square base ?

    * Rebels and Imperials: These are definatly re-releases, right ? I can skip on that set

    * "Starter Set": What exactly is this ? 6 all unique figures, like the Clone Wars starter set ?

There is an Obi-Wan and Jango that are unique to the starter.

Same thing, there is an Obi-Wan and Grievous that are unique to that starter.

The first issue of this set contained figures with the square bases as a limited run. Afterwards they started phasing in the same figures, but with the normal circle bases.

All of them are new in terms of figure. The troop types have similiar stat cards to previous troop types of the same variety. For example, the Scout Trooper card should be the same as the version from the first SW set.

They are re-releases, so you can pass.

No these sets appeared at Target stores alot and they contain re-issued versions of figures that were already out. Most of them fairly useless because they had been replaced by more powerful versions. The same is true with the Rebels and Imperials set mentioned above.

Now do be aware, however, many peices from RS, CS, and the ROTS sets are pretty unplayable and never see light of day in games. I reccomend going to bloomilk.com and checking each pieces rating.

Also, there are no circle-based Alliance and Empire pieces, it was planned to go from square to circle but low sales meant that only square were ever released, and WotC still has lots of AE in the warehouse.
Anyone who plays/collects the LOTR TMG drop me a PM!

Here's one...is there anyway to buy specific miniatures that you need, instead of having to buy the expensive booster packs when you know you have a very low percentage to get what you need>

Is there like a site or something, where I can just buy the ones I want, or do I just have to stick it out and spend countless amounts of money to buy boosters.

And I'm talking about sites other than eBay.

Consider joining the WOTC forums. Many people there have minis for sale or trade. I have heard good things about auggies.com or miniaturemarket.com, but I've never checked them out.

There's also coolstuffinc.com that sells individual miniatures. I'm also about to sell off the rest of mine so if you are interested in some specific ones in the sets Bounty Hunters and prior, you can PM me and I'll see if I have it.

I personally use Auggies and Miniature Market for my singles, but really you have to check different ones. Auggies is the cheapest, but doesn't have the coverage other sites do. Here is a tool that someone made that goes and checks who has what and what they are selling them for. I have found it very useful when checking on what something could be worth.

Re: I am confused about the Miniatures !

I just bought about 9 figures that I personnally needed and I got them pretty cheap. Only spent $22 for 9, so I guess it was a pretty good deal. Hell of a lot better then buying $15 boosters and get nothing but copies and non-needed miniatures.

    Thanks
