I'm a little embarrassed to be honest.

I paid more than that in total for mine. I've never considered it a waste of money. Admittedly, it was irrational (I only wanted a "special 30th anniversary" present to myself), but i've not regretted it for a second.

Don't forget those photos pepemacca (PS. How'd you come up with that name? )

No need to be embarrassed Rodders, I would have paid that amount in a heartbeat were it not for the fact that the Senate must give budgetary approval for all SW purchases, in this instance when attempting to persuade her she said "Your powers are weak old man", So I took that as a no

pepemacca, can't wait to see more photos

    Re: MR Millenium Falcon

ive had a change of heart as ive found a display case in burr walnut for the study, makes more sense as we may be moving soon and the place will be easier to shift if its not decked out in custom made shelving....

i agree with btotheg, rodders, dont let anyone make you feel ashamed of that falcon or what you paid for it.

as for my name, its what my real name would translate in french, if you were really bad at french.

    Re: MR Millenium Falcon

Guys, don't get me wrong, there's no way in a million years that i feel bad about this. It was a once in a lifetime purchase and i had to get it. My only regret so far is that i don't have enough room to display this piece how it should be.

As for the cost of the case, i've yet to order one as well. Anyone else? Pepemacca, See how much two would cost in the UK?

sorry mate its been a long day and i am bushed, i might be misunderstanding here, two what in the uk?

the quote i got for the display was from a plastics company down my way who apparently specialise in display cases. im thinking, the plastic cant cost very much, so what are they charging so much for? bending it?

Hi pepemacca, a couple of Scummers in the US last year had them made up for $181, so I would have thought that it being the UK around £200 would have been a fairer price. It may be worth searching further afield.

EDIT: Just had a brainwave about the display case. I have a contact at one of the UK's best exhibition stand designers so tomorrow if I get time I'll ask where they get their acrylic work done. They might be able to get me some contact details so I'll see what I can come up with.

(Apologies but I've posted this in the props forum as well)

Good news pepemacca, my contact has acrylic display cases made up all the time (in fact they make them inhouse!!!)

I've emailed over rough figures to them for a quote for 2. Hopefully I'll get the info back later.
