update...art show shut down by government
sorry i havent been on here as much as i would like. as some of you guys know some of my art work was accepted for showing earlier last month. well after the opening this past weekend things have really turned for the worse. heres the link: http://artsblog.freedomblogging.com/...more-6290since
being unemployed at the moment ive volunteered my time to this art organization to help set up the exhibit b/c of their lack of manpower. ive gotten to know the ladies on the council and share their love of the arts.
during a panel discussion on Sunday at the show the organizers demanded that the curators take down the "offensive" art piece. they refused. at another townhall meeting the four ladies were shouted down and pushed/escorted out the door. and get this piece of comedy. one of the accuser literally asked for a ride home which of course they obliged. you cant make this up.
at the moment they are being accused of spreading communist propaganda. they have recieved threats and sexually vulgar messages on their phone and emails. these anti-communist fanatics are not new to this. read this article:

heres another one: http://articles.latimes.com/2008/mar...l/me-madison22
if these protesters do not get what they want they resort to intimidation and smear tactics. in all 3 articles there is a pattern. if you're not with them or disagree then you're a communist. they are planning to bus in people from the area for a large protest this saturday. i pray for their safety. these brave ladies truely need your Thoughts and Prayers. BTW one of these brave ladies is my baby sister

Re: thoughts and prayers needed
Sad Steve. Personal bias and intolerance are at the root of this outrage. Good luck....where's the ALCU when you need 'em?

Re: thoughts and prayers needed
the protesters have pressured the local politicians to shut own the art show. ive also made it on the protesters black list. so any future work i make will be subject to "consequences." so much for freedom of expression.
