CHIEF OSCEOLA - Florida State University\'s Symbol
Hey everyone, wanted to share a new custom I made a bit back. Some of you might remember the Seminole Warrior I did a while back. This is sort of a continuation of that theme, though this go-round, I was inspired by the outfit which Florida State's symbol Chief Osceola wears. The outfit is actually designed by the Seminole people in Florida, and the usage of the Unconquered Seminoles as our symbol is fully supported by the Seminole Tribe. I want to eventually take an Indiana Jones articulated horse to create Renegade, Osceola's mount. Hopefully, once that is complete, I will be able to come up with a display/diorama of the most exciting, inspiring rituals in college football: the pre-game ride with flaming spear to open each home game at Bobby Bowden Field at Doak Campbell Stadium. Can you tell I'm a bit jacked up over this season? LOL
I experimented a good bit using the soft goods ribbon, leg-ties, and fringe on this one, and am pretty happy with the results. Hope ya'll like him!!
Here are the pics, let me know what you think!

Looks good! Very different from what is normally here - creative.
There's a bit of TPM Mace in there, right?

Re: CHIEF OSCEOLA - Florida State University\'s Sym
Sun Tzu - Thanks for the compliments, they are much appreciated! I guess it is a little different, in not being sci-fi, Indy, or really military. But that goes to show how cool it is that action figure parts and looks can translate to a ton of different themes.
You're right on for the Mace Windu bits. His torso and arms, along with a trimmed down 'skirt' came from a spare Mace I had around.
As for the rest of the recipe:
Face and hands - Military soldier, not too sure, may have been from a Japanese officer.
Hair - Tol Skorr, with Infinities comic pack Leia belt for head-dress.
Bandolier/wrap is just some ribbon. The yellow scarf is cut down and dremeled from a random Jedi sleeve.
Legs - TAC Tatooine Biggs, fringe was a toughie. Took an exacto knife and sliced nearly halfway through the legs on the outside, and then scored out a small surface groove. Pushed in some fringe from a Bratz or Barbie something or other, and then trimmed it down. As for the tassels on his boots, I drilled a hole clear through, and tucked them through where they looped over themselves to stay in place. For both the fringe and tassels, I did add the tiniest bit of superglue to ensure that they stay put over time.
Thanks again!

Great work. I love seeing this type of custom that nobody would have expected... it's always a treat. And this is especially good work. Just logged in to say that and check through your old threads to look at your customs - haven't been here in a while and this is what I do when I do check back.

E_CHU_TA - thanks for the kind words, I really appreciate it. Pretty encouraging to hear that it looks good to ya -- - I'm thinking about making several more figures of the Seminole Tribe.
TT8L, I'm really glad to have your feedback on this one. With all of the positive remarks I've gotten, I think that it's kind of pushing me to go outside of just doing Star Wars characters, and just trying to expand some of my work to other themes. Thanks again for taking time to look at my work!
Blight, I can really appreciate a compliment coming from a Gator, thanks! Hope this weekend turns out to be a good game. It's a shame that we've lost some close ones, otherwise it might be a top-10 match up. Anyways, we're gonna have to play a perfect game for it to be competitive. Hope the 'Nole team that played last night shows up!
