You know, according to a source with the company, Hasbro seems to be moving away from the MU line.

We've been fearing this. Yeah, why make awesome, classic characters with nice articulation when you can make modern, lame takes on characters with half the articulation that gather dust?

I suggest polite emails to Hasbro and if you are attending SDCC, mature and articulate discussions with the people you see in the Hasbro booth.

I could almost care less. MU hardly exists anymore anyways, maybe one or two new waves hit retail a year (I know you can get em online but I'm not down with that). On top of that they're making very C and D list characters that not many folks want. If you don't believe that, ask yourself why there are so many Gladiators and Doc Sampsons rotting on the pegs. Either we get an obscure character that doesn't have mass appeal, or another IM or Spidey that most people have enough of.

I would really like to finish up a 90's Jim Lee X-Men team and get that FF Spidey, then I'd probably call it quits as it is.

If Hasbro is phasing out MU, I'm pretty much done with them as a company. They've driven GI Joe into the ground. With those 2 lines done, I'll be seriously trimming down on toy-buying.

What an odd decision, since MU seems to be a very consistent seller for them. Only some 2 packs and a few figures (Guardian comes to mind) seem to hang around. Otherwise, the sell-through on this line is actually quite amazing.

The problem is that if you dig this collection, you need to go out of your way to find it. The distribution on these has (like all Hasbro lines) been spotty at best. When's the last time a new wave showed up at retail?

Absolutely. I'll probably be wrapping up this year if they do cancel MU. I got Xavier. I just need that Rogue pack and I'll live with Astonishing Beast if they don't get to the Jim Lee version by the end. But after these coming waves, I've pretty much gotten who I need unless they start tackling Avengers Academy or Young Avengers etc.

Bummer, hope they make a new Thing sculpt before they tank the line...oh and the rest of Alpha Flight and The Defenders and a Dum Dum Dugan & Agent 13 and and and, now I'm sad.
