China? Anybody?

From my last few visits to China, i can almost declare that most parts of china are Anti-starwars the only sw thing i have ever seen was an episode III ad even though ROTS was already out for 2 years. Anyways, does anybody know anything about the china-starwars relationship?

They are not anti-Star Wars at all, its just too expensive for most if you want original items. I have just been to Shanghai at the Toys R Us (yes also TRU in China!) and the Star Wars Hasbro and Lego items are even more expensive there then already expensive Europe. An evolutions set by Hasbro for example was 295 Yuan = 31 euro = 43 USD. You can find some counterfeit products for lower price at malls that 'specialise' in fake prodfucts. Currently, McDonalds has the asian Happy meal products (different from USA and Europe) which you can see here:

At the time of ROTS they had an official promotion with Ice-tea bottles and cans where you could collect for bottle caps. So its not exactly an Anti Star Wars country anymore...! For quite some time.

There is an underground mall just north of Huai Hai Zhong (Central) Rd that have little stores that sell SW items. Actually, just about the whole underground mall sells SW/Transformers/Comic related items.
