"That is the sound of ultimate suffering. My heart made that sound when the six-fingered man killed my father."
wow.. that seems like a really really long time away.
I think they must have taken a look at the pile of cash they got from Iron Man and heard cash registers chiming.

I'm sure that played big role but someone in the Iron Man movie thread had a nice breakdown of the other 3 upcoming movies that relate to these Avengers. Plus that bonus scene in Iron Man had everyone buzzing so now was the time to address that. Nice to see potentially the same actors in the Avengers as the ones in the solo movies. Curious to see how they handle Thor.Originally Posted by ThorOakenfelder

Marvel is on fire right now. This was the buzz DC was hoping for with its announced JLA project but now that may never happen...
It's not just football, it's Notre Dame football
I think Marvel has this all carefully planned out. Since they now have complete control over their properties they can create cross-overs with their movie characters and stream it all into a big team movie (Avengers).
I just pray that it doesn't become cheesy and look 2nd rate!
I think it's brilliant. Marvel is really stepping up their game now, and they are certainly heading in the right direction for some cross-over goodness: Nick Fury in IM, Tony Stark in TIH, Hulk in IM2, the Cap and Thor getting their own flicks... it's all shaping up. The Avengers could have some serious potential.
Now if only DC would pick up a few things from the Marvel franchise...

Me too. I've been mulling it over in my head and I think if they went with the first film as a completely mythical story and didn't ship him off to earth until the end of the film it could be neat - think the look and feel of something like Clash of the Titans but updated with the Norse gods.Originally Posted by sntee25

Who knows maybe The Black Panther will get his own flick
I've been thinking a little bit about this, and here's how I could see it happening.Originally Posted by sntee25
The Captain America movie takes place in WW2, at the end, he is knocked off the drone/bomb into the ocean, it fades to black and then fades back up 60 years later with his body in the ice and somebody discovering him. after the credits Tony Stark gets a call from Nick Fury, "We found him."
Avengers starts with a Kree or Skrull ship approaching earth and an alert going off in SHIELD Headquarters. Fury tries to form the team, they still don't have a leader, cut to the ending sequence of Cap, they want to use his blood to create Super Soldiers, he awakes, and so on.
