Star Wars collection destroyed by lightning strike

The BBC news site reports that a Star Wars collectors whole collection was destroyed by a fire caused by a lightning strike during the storms at the weekend.

Is Graham Duck a member here? Anyone recognise the name? What a terrible end to Father's Day.

Well ‘wigeon’ you know it! ‘Eider’ve known better than to ‘nest’ my collection in a straw protected roof. Never wise to place all your ‘eggs’ in one basket as they say.

He should have ‘bean’ (goose) more careful and this ‘wood’ (duck) not have happened.

Let’s hope he doesn’t have to ‘scaup’ anyone to rebuild his collection although it might be a while ‘teal’ his collection is complete again.

Apologies for the bad jokes about his name Graham Duck

All I can say is I am glad it wasn't my collection!

Wow, not the best thing to happen.

But it does make me wonder what the guy collected, vintage or new...20.000 pounds...that's a big amount.

It was probably $36,000 (US) retail cost of new toys. So really worth about $5k.
