First time poster but a long time reader. I have a collection of loose figures that I started a while back and am slowly trying to get all of 1977 through 1985 collected. All loose figures though. I recently bought a Boba Fett and a Jawa that I had some questions about. The green chest protector on Boba looks like it might have been "touched up". It also appears that some paint got in between the shoulder pads and the chest protector too. Is this figure touched up or just a crummy paint job from the get go?

My second question is on a Jawa that I recently bought on ebay. The seller said "Included is his Authentic material cloak." The cloak looks brand new and I will be amazed if it is original.

And my last question is about the Jawa Blaster. I have one with a knob and one without. Are they both Authentic or is one or both a Repro? Thank you all in advance!

who is responsible to pay the paypal fees? buyer or the seller?
credit card transactions fees are always paid by the seller here in USA but i know in UK they are added additional to final cost and in essence the buyer has to pay the fees.

so who do you think should cover the fees?

Hi fellow Scummers,

Hi fellow Scummers,

About 18 months to 2 years ago I started collecting vintage MOC's and the second item I ended up buying was this 12 Back Leia.

Unfortunately back then, I had no graded examples to compare her with and I have since managed to build a rather modest collection. With a few graded items, my fears are that the Leia that I bought back then is a recard and hoping to hear what others think. The seller I bought it from on eBay had 100% positive feedback from several thousand transactions, listing it as "100% sealed vintage" (perhaps they were conned themselves and didn't know any better)

My reasons for thinking it is fake are:
i) "Jagged" punch hole
ii) The base of the bubble is completely closed and glued to the card, unlike genuine vintage ones that are not sealed across the stem where it meets the card
iii) The bubble doesn't have the characteristic "waffle" texture where it is glued to the card, but is instead pretty smooth
iv) The card itself feels too smooth and the colours look printed
v) The bubble seems to be glued very high up on the card

Anything I have missed?

I should add this item will never leave my collection if it is deemed to be fake, but Leia might be peeled from the bubble to have loose and the card will be incinerated!

I have a DT Luke I bought back in the mid 90s, it's always been my favorite piece. I feel like it's in as perfect condition as possible except over the past 10 years the chest has yellowed some, even with it being in a room without sunlight. I was thinking about sending it in to get graded, just to own a graded figure.

What dawned on me is what stops someone from buying an all white Luke off ebay and then selling that with a real DT sabre or even getting it graded? If I've just thought of it then I assume that's been going on for years...

On a similar or maybe unrelated topic, what can I do to prevent further yellowing?

Also, will they grade the polish bootleg ree-yees that I have just bought if I sent it in as well?

Thanks!

You've probably seen my other thread on the fake VC Jawa that the seller claimed had been in storage for decades, but it ended up being a re-cut Obi-Wan cape (link here: http://forum.rebelscum.com/t1098732/ ).

There is currently a DT Darth Vader auction that is from the same seller. It already has a bid at $499 :disgusted: Since he is presenting it the same way, I'd be hesitant about buying it. Although he was accomodatiing in allowing us to return the fake VC Jawa, this DT Darth Vader seems to have the same story behind it, which causes me to question the authenticity. Buyer beware:

Hey all. I'm looking at this polish deluxe ree-yees to add my collection of them (ree-yees, not polish figures). The seller had it up for sale previously with one picture and again with one where the neck joint has been "restored", whatever that means. There is no COO and no holes in the feet. What I was looking for is a little guidance on if there is a solid chance this is the real deal and how bad a neck restoration affects the value. In the end a lower value is actually better since I just want to add to my collection.

Here is the figure before the neck restoration:

Here is the figure after:

On a totally unrelated note, here are three of my favorite ree-yees that I have (left to right, japanese back, two pack ackbar, two pack solo):
