I've been dying to know the answers to 2 questions I have about the Falcon, and have no idea where to find them. For years, I had heard rumors that an early draft of "A New Hope" (or "Empire Strikes Back") gave the Millennium Falcon a "retractable, manned" tail gun (unlike the auto-cannon used escaping Hoth) located just under the engines. Has anyone else heard this rumor, or know if there is any truth behind them?

My second question has to do with the changes to the exterior of the Falcon between Ep4 and Ep5. I know that the set designers/model makers added 2 "pods" and landing legs to hide the support beams used on the full size model. Does anyone know if the books, or Expanded Universe, mention any "in-Universe" reason for the "pods"? They always seemed a little larger than required for the landing legs.

I was thinking today, since he obviously left Red 5 on Bespin what X-wing does Luke use in ROTJ? I know they used the Red3 model in ESB in place of Red5 and built a new model for ROTJ that also was Red3 (though with coloring of Red5) does any EU story ever address this? Did the Empire take Luke's x-wing as a trophy from Bespin?

Okay, I know this has been discussed before--probably ad nauseum--but I can't seem to do a proper search to get results. So forgive me for asking again, but who is the other that Yoda speaks of when he says to ghost Obi-Wan "there is another" after Obi-Wan's "That boys is our only hope"?

It doesn't seem like it can be Leia (who I remember being the answer to discussions I had read years ago) as at that point they think there is a possibility of all Luke's friends dying on Cloud City.

The other night Alamo Drafthouse screened ROTJ for the 30th anniversary. Before the movie begins, they always play odd and obscure clips and commercials. They showed part of an 80's Star Wars documentary, narrated by Mark Hamill. It showed a "Star Wars Family" named the Steuben's. They were billed as having one of the largest Star Wars collections at the time valued at $15k, haha.
But it was hilarious to see them at their dinner table completely surrounded by Star Wars merch.
Anyone know what documentary this is?

So thirty years ago today was the day I saw my first SW film in a theater, at the age of three. I have vague memories of it, like getting sick towards the end and missing Vader's unmasking, but I remember loving it and it's what set me on the path to being a SW fan. To this day it remains my favorite of the OT. Never get tired of watching it. Hoping to keep this thread positive (please, no Ewok hate ). Share your memories of when you first saw the film, regardless of the year, and how you plan to celebrate today. Myself, I'll be watching it with my 8 year old son (it's his favorite too) and we'll probably play with some of his SW toys, recreating the movie. To help get you in the mood, here's some vintage news stories, toy commercials and TV spots (feel free to add more)-
