You can still volunteer and work on Thursday even if you are not a fan club member. That was easy! :-)

We're exchanging your 4-day badge for a volunteer badge. A volunteer badge will get you into work on Thursday. Nothing else need be done on your part.

Hi Anne, thanks for all these helpful questions. I'll have my 4-day badge in hand on Thursday, and I'm (gasp!) not a fan club member. When I arrive at the door, do I say I'm a volunteer? Is there a special entrance for volunteers? Thanks!

Is there any help needed Wed? I am flying in from DFW 1 day early. Can we exchange badges then?

We won't need help Wednesday. I'm trying to arrange a time and place to exchange badges starting on Wednesday, but nothing is final.

Woot! I've always wanted to wear a badge other than the 4-day like everyone else. I just wonder what the Volunteer will look like?

It will be a different color & character, just like it was @ C3... Who & what color is anyone's guess...

I agree, however...

It appears that some volunteers did not show up for their shifts on Saturday, which is totally wrong. I had no relief in Kenny Baker's line until I was able to get a floor manager to help me out. It's a matter of respect to fellow volunteers. It's one thing to not shop up and screw Official Pix and the stars signing, but it's also extremely rude to leave fellow volunteers hanging like that. You're only creating a bad name for yourself.

So, I sent over a great guy I met who was interested in volunteering. I was embarrassed a bit when I said, "Tell Anne Madonna sent you." But hey, what can I do with a screen name like this? So that's something we can do. If you know someone that's a quality individual, have them be a part of this.

Next time, if Anne will have my services, I would hope she places me in places she knows are potential no call / no shows. Therefore, I will make my convention time completely open to her. Also, to avoid shady volunteers taking advantage of Anne and the benefits we received, I hope a list is kept of the good ones and the bad ones. Plus, we can have groups of people who know each other be volunteers. Like for example. I could bring my mom and dad to the convention. They're reliable and they would have a blast doing it.

The thing is, a convention this size requires a lot of people, and when you have a ton of volunteers, chances are there will be some bad apples. That's why restaurants always over hire their staff when they first open because you always weed out the bad ones.

Anne had a tough job. I had no idea what a load of work and responsibility were put on her shoulders. I knew she had game, but dam, that's a lot to handle. She deserves an applause. I am so sorry some people abused Official Pix like that.

I know I had a blast and met some great people both volunteering and in-line. I had several people thank me and even the celebrities that I chatted with after I was done with my shift stated what a great crew OPX was. I did have someone come up to me when I was wondering around the C4 store (still in my orange shirt http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/wink.gif ) and state that he really appreciated the help the volunteers were when he dropped his program and his photo's fell out. He said "you people in the orange shirts dove for my stuff so no one would step on them" and thanked me and asked me to thank everyone else for making his time in the autograph section fun. So....THANK YOU to everyone, especially whomever it was that helped out this guy - class act all the way!!

I had a great time too! In fact I don't think I would have had such a fantastic CIV experience if I hadn't volunteered for Official Pix. I got to help out Rusty Goffe and Grey De Lisle and really had fun! Such nice people. Rusty was a true character with great stories about the the ANH shoot and Grey was simply charming. A coule of times I was even mistaken for a celebrity. Not really sure why someone thought I was the voice for Asajj Ventress in the Clone Wars cartoons... but it gave me a good chuckle! http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

HAHA That's great. When I was a floater and sitting at Luminara's table (she was away wondering the exhibit hall), someone came up to me and asked: Who are you supposed to be? I'm a volunteer, I answered. Then they asked, "Then why are you sitting at the table?"

I had a blast volunteering too. I will never go to another convention and not volunteer. Thank you Anne and to everyone else that helped make this so awesome. Celebration IV was 10 times better than Celebration III.

See you all next time. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Like you all, I had a great time and no problems volunteering. I got to sit with Andy Seacombe (Watto) and Jake Lloyd - both were great! Also helped out a bit with Ray Park (who my husband was sitting with) and met/talked to so many other people like Mike Kingma (cool!) and Zac Jensen (laid back).

We also met Corey Feldman who was there on Sunday with his family. He took pictures with us and was very personable.

I also spent a shift doing coupon help - helping people fill out their request forms. I met so many people and also bumped into people I had volunteered with at CIII.

All in all, I had a much better time at CIV than CIII. Great experience. So THANKS ANNE!

Well, having been to the other three celebrations and not volunteering before I can honestly say it was really a hell of a lotta fun all around. There was plenty of time for both volunteering and enjoying most of what you would hope to see there and the people I met were just fantastic.
A special shout out to Jadesfire!!!!!!!! Woooo hooooo!!!
This was just the best Celebration for me out of the 4 and
I would also like to thank Anne and OPX for the oppty. I would definately volunteer at another event for OPX. http://threads.rebelscum.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif
