Its cool that GG is doing this for collectors (even though I ran ALL OVER FRIGG'N TOWN to get my 5) ...

I don't know about the stormie and the clone (not that I wouldn't love the chance to get some black hole troopers)....but Gree is still out there, so yeah...that'd be great!

Instead of buying them from GG, should I ask for a reimbursement of gas and tolls that I paid to buy my ice set by running all across NY?

There's 6 ice variants all together - are you missing one?

I also ran all over my neck of the woods finding searching for the ice variants. Since they were sealed shut, I had to buy multiples to make sure I got them all. Wish I knew this set was coming - It would've saved me some time and money. Oh, well.

I wish GG had done this earlier. All of this series at my local stores have been ripped apart by scalpers trying to get the variants. A day after the case was out on the shelves the boxes were ripped to shreds.

kind of sad.

Yeah, I'm missing Luke as of right now; however I've worked a trade with a fellow scummer, so I should have it soon.

Like others, I wish I hadn't wasted my time, gas, and bunch o money (buying many multiples) to get these, but on the bright side I guess GG heard our complaining about these variants did something about it...more than I can say for many companies!

Maybe they figured that 6 variants was 5 too many, and wanted to make it up to us by doing this.

Do you think that there will be a variant in this set?

Great for those who wanted the whole set, but I already got the Vader ice variant, which is the only one I really wanted, so guess I'm good.

I will be getting the Ice Bust Ups set only because I have hard time finding anything around here...

Really? I think the Hoth wave was probably the best one Gentle Giant's released so far.

My friend got an Ice variant of the snowtrooper the other day.

What are these things going for? He'd like to trade it for as many other bust ups as he could get.

How good are these for trade fodder?

I got a Luke and Wampa and when I got home they were the ice variants. I returned them to the store for the regular ones beacuse they were ugly. These aren't holograms or spirits and all they are is taking regular bust-ups and making them clear. The ice variants are based off of nothing...

Hey, the flame variant IS a chase piece!

KIDDING! God, could you imagine how much that would royally SUCK for those of us that ran all over to find them?

I might grab the reg Hoth set down the road, but rite now I got to many things I want, so I have to be real picky with what I actually get. I agree with you it's an awesome set, but I can't afford everything under the sun rite now....

I received my ICE set today. They all come in a special white ice box. I got them fast 'cause I live like a mile away from GG's studios. Still, they made me pay for shipping!! Anyway, here are a couple of pictures of what I got:

Actually, there is a Vader in my set. I have not opened it yet, but there is something in there that looks like flames. Is this it?

Long before the set was officially released, there were pictures and prototypes of the Hoth set and this "Flaming Vader" at GG's booth at SDCC. Everyone thought for sure that the Vade was going to be the Series 5 Variant. When the "Ice" variants came to light when the set was released, we all wondered what became of the Vader, as it was clear that it wasn't coming in this set. Now that the Ice variants have been released on their own, we are once again wondering if the Vader will be the "Variant of the Variant set." As of right now, it's just a rumor.

I put my ice pack together tonight, and the Wampa had a different arm than the regular version, is there 2 wampa versions out there? One with the arm and bone low and one with it higher?
